Major societal challenges such as climate change and coastal transformation require new forms of scientific collaboration. With "Crossing Currents", we are launching an experimental framework for transdisciplinary research collaborations!
đź’ˇ Do you have a research idea that feels too speculative, too transversal, or simply doesn't fit into conventional funding schemes yet?
"Crossing Currents" creates the space to test new approaches and develop future-oriented questions alongside fellow researchers.
Crossing Currents is open to research ideas from across the research landscape, but has a special focus on the coastal fringe, the ambiguous and shifting area between solid land and the open sea. We want to open a space to joyfully explore artificial lungs, ecological reefs, digital coastal ecosystems and anything you can imagine to transform how we use and understand coastal landscapes and the open sea.
🔹 Oct 13: Call for Applications opens
🔹 Nov 04: Application deadline
🔹 Nov 27: One-day workshop “Crossing Currents” (Research pitches, scenario development & collaborative group formation)
